He also provided examples of previous work and clients, which gave me confidence in his team’s abilities. Their pricing was very reasonable compared to other companies.
I got quotes from three companies: Simple Roofing, Company B, and Company C. Company B quoted almost double, and Company C insisted on a metal roof.
I explained, FOR 3 HOURS, that a metal roof was not in my budget, and Company C then quoted me 3x the price for a regular shingle roof. Both Company B and C were suggesting financing these 2x and 3x priced roofing projects over 15–25 years, which I thought was insane—financing a project over such a long period and paying interest the whole time. Going with Simple Roofing ended up being a no-brainer: I got a fair price that I could finance over a much smaller time period.
Rafael carefully reviewed the roof, pointing out areas of concern and suggesting improvements such as better gutter routing for efficiency. Scheduling was easy, and the team completed the work in a single day.
Minor points to note: I did find a few nails in my driveway and lawn after the job was completed. To be fair: his team did collect about 99% of the nails and debris. It’s important to do your own scan afterward so you don’t accidentally drive over nails with your car or run over them with a lawn mower. That said, this is something a homeowner should generally expect to do after any roofing project, so it’s not a big deal.
Another small disappointment was that I did not get the option to keep any extra materials that I paid for. I’m not sure if there were any leftover materials or if the estimates were for exact amounts, but if there were any extras, they were taken by the crew. On the positive side, Rafael provided $100 worth of plywood at no extra charge for roof deck replacements, which I did need, so the final cost did not exceed the original estimate. I would assume the extra roof decking supplies were included in the estimate so it wasn't technically free, but he mentioned that if more roof decking was needed, that it would affect the final cost.
Rafael also worked closely with me and my financing team to ensure the roof could be financed, guiding me through every step.
Your mileage may vary, but from my experience, the process from price quoting to scheduling, talking with financing, and completing the job felt really quick. From start to finish, it was completed much faster than I anticipated.
Overall, I highly recommend Simple Roofing. They are trustworthy, local to the Northern NJ area, and professional. My new roof looks pristine, and their work exceeded my expectations. I would recommend them to anyone, whether for a small repair or a full roof replacement. -

In our case, there was no such damage, but at least we had a thorough inspection of our roof performed, with all of the issues properly diagnosed.
Rafael is very responsive. He almost always answers his phone when called, and he gets back to you very quickly when he is unable to respond. He also does a great job of explaining the process. Finally, on the day of the installation, his team came very early (before 8am), and the job was done by around 4pm the same day.
Overall, the process of installing a new roof was very smooth with Rafael and Simple Roofing. -

I came across Rafael and Simple Roofing while trying to determine whether my roof needed a replacement. Rafael helped me through the entire process, identified how the roof damage was weather related and worked with my insurance company … More to install a new roof. Throughout the process, Rafael was never pushing me or pressuring me (unlike almost every other roofing company I contacted). During the initial phase, Rafael was present during the insurance inspection and helped me by answering a whole bunch of questions. On his end, he also got a drone and took detailed pictures of the roof. The roof changing process itself was very quick and per the plan. High quality GAF shingles were used. When I did identify some minor issues during installation, Rafael was quick to have his people fix the problem. The company was very thorough with the cleaning process as well. I would highly recommend connecting with Rafael / Simple Roofing if you are trying to get your roof fixed. As an added bonus, he also made a small fix to my neighbor's roof free of charge and helped another neighbor identify a major issue on their newly installed roof.

We quoted out a new roof for the past years but decided to continue to patch instead of replacing it due to the high cost. Recently, Rafael approached us with replacing the roof through our insurance due to weather damage which we did experience. … More Since no money was due to submit the claim, we proceeded, and the insurance company approved our claim. What to expect: Rafael handles communication with your insurance company and to you directly. He will submit on your behalf throughout the entire process. Your insurance will keep you informed by sending you documents along the way. And if you have a deductible, that will be your responsibility to pay it on the day the roof is complete. All other payments will be submitted from your insurance in the form of physical checks which we indorsed and then handed them to Rafael for his payment. Roof materials and process include GAF shingles and a review of your roof through a detailed report which you will also have a copy for your records. This report is submitted to your insurance so they can decide if the claim can be approved or not. After your insurance company approves the claim, then you schedule the roof replacement. Dumpster comes, roof gets removed and the shingles get replaced in a couple of days. The dumpster may be there for about a week, at most. Rafael responded promptly to our questions and concerns, and the roof came out great. The employees were quick and professional to clean up as best as possible when the job was done. We now have a new roof for the cost of our deductible, and we couldn't be happier.
